Murree authorities order crackdown on illegal construction, launch fee recovery drive

MURREE, Aug 28 (APP): District authorities Murree ordered an indiscriminate crackdown on unauthorized construction and encroachments while launching an accelerated revenue collection drive to recover outstanding Municipal Corporation (MC) dues.

Presiding over an administrative review meeting here on Friday at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi directed building control officials to strictly enforce municipal bylaws and initiate legal action against violators to protect the natural environment and aesthetic character of the hill station.

Evaluating ongoing development initiatives, the administration mandated high quality standards, timely fund utilization, and strict adherence to completion schedules to enhance civic infrastructure for residents and visitors.

Additionally, MC Murree staff were instructed to expedite fee recovery operations to expand the municipality’s financial capacity and improve local public services.
