Punjab Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique on Monday said Muharram-ul-Haram would be observed in a peaceful environment under the principles of inter-sect unity, mutual respect and religious harmony.

SARGODHA, Jun 08 (APP): Punjab Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique on Monday said Muharram-ul-Haram would be observed in a peaceful environment under the principles of inter-sect unity,mutual respect and religious harmony.
He was addressing a meeting with members of the Divisional Peace Committee,religious scholars and spiritual leaders held in Sargodha to review arrangements for Muharram and strengthen coordination among different schools of thought.
The meeting was attended by Co-Chairman Bilal Yasin, provincial ministers Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharath and Bilal Akbar Khan along with senior officials including Secretary Auqaf Dr.Ehsan Bhutta,Additional IG CTD Waseem Sial,Additional IG Imran Arshad,Brigadier Asjad Ali and DIG Sajjad Manj.
Religious scholars and Peace Committee members expressed satisfaction over security and administrative arrangements, appreciating the government’s outreach to all schools of thought and ground-level monitoring of preparations.
Participants expressed confidence that Muharram would be observed peacefully across the division with law enforcement agencies maintaining heightened vigilance.
Religious leaders said Friday sermons would be dedicated to promoting peace,unity and inter-sect harmony urging citizens to avoid any actions that could disturb public order.
Khawaja Salman Rafique acknowledged the role of religious scholars in maintaining law and order and stressed collective responsibility for ensuring sectarian harmony.
Provincial ministers also urged clerics to discourage the spread of provocative or misleading content on social media that could trigger unrest or sectarian tensions.
