MPAs call on CM, discuss development priorities

LAHORE, Aug 16 (APP):Members of the Punjab Assembly (MPAs) from Attock district called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Sunday and discussed public welfare initiatives, development priorities

and issues concerning the district.

The legislators appreciated the provincial government’s ongoing development agenda and congratulated the chief minister on the party’s success in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections and lauded the launch of the electric bus service in Attock.

They informed her that electric buses were operating on the POF Sanjwal–Hazro and Government College

of Technology Dhok Fateh–Attock Khurd routes, providing modern, affordable and environment-friendly transport facilities to residents of Attock and adjoining areas.

The MPAs said the electric bus service had received an encouraging public response, adding that free travel for women, students and senior citizens had made the initiative a major public relief measure. They also praised the Model Village Project, describing the upgradation of rural settlements as a landmark initiative and saying Punjab’s development model was becoming an example for other provinces.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that after the successful implementation of the Suthra Punjab Programme, the provision of clean drinking water across the province had become one of the government’s top priorities. “After cleanliness, my mission is to ensure the availability of clean drinking water in every city of Punjab,” she said.

The CM said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)  had a proven record of delivering landmark national projects, including making Pakistan a nuclear power and constructing the motorway network. She added that the Punjab Development Programme had been launched for every city and village, under which mega projects for roads, drainage and sewerage infrastructure were being implemented across the province.
