Minister reviews progress of BHUs, RHCs renovation under Phase-II

An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth to review the progress on the renovation of Basic Health Units (BHUs) and Rural Health Centres (RHCs) under Phase-II across the province, here on Tuesday.

LAHORE, Apr 28 (APP):An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth to review the progress on the renovation of Basic Health Units (BHUs) and Rural Health Centres (RHCs) under Phase-II across the province, here on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended online by Secretary C&W Raja Jahangir Anwar, along with additional secretary, chief engineers and executive engineers (XENs).
Participants were informed that renovation work was underway on a total of 514 BHUs and RHCs under Phase-II, out of which 497 health facilities had been completed.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth said that 467 BHUs and RHCs had already been handed over to the health department following completion of renovation work.
He added that overall progress of the project had reached 99.23 per cent.
The provincial minister directed authorities to ensure completion of the remaining facilities at the earliest without any delay. He emphasized that improvement of infrastructure across the province was being carried out on a priority basis.
He further said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the pace of development and progress in the province was accelerating steadily.
