Minister reviews Muharram security arrangements in Sialkot

SIALKOT, Jun 23 (APP):Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resource Mansha Ullah Butt accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali, MPA Chaudhry Faisal Ikram, and District Police Officer Dost Muhammad visited the Central Imambargah Mistri Abdullah and Central Imambargah Dar-e-Batool Adda Pasrurian to review arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.
During the visit, the minister conducted a detailed inspection of the routes of the main Muharram
processions and reviewed security arrangements, cleanliness measures, lighting, route clearance,
medical facilities, and other administrative preparations.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Naeem Bashir, Assistant Commissioner Rana Safdar Shabbir,
Chief Executive Officer Municipal Corporation Zubair Wattoo, and officers from relevant departments
were also present.
Briefing the delegation, Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali said all necessary arrangements for Muharram processions and gatherings in Sialkot had been completed. She informed that the main 10th Muharram procession will commence at 10:00 am from Imambargah Adda Pasrurian, while another central procession will start from Imambargah Mistri Abdullah.
The deputy commissioner stated that a District Emergency Control Room had been activated round-the-clock to monitor all processions and religious gatherings. Repair and patchwork work along the approximately two-kilometer procession route has been completed, encroachments have been removed, streetlights restored, and backup generators arranged to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.
Expressing satisfaction over arrangements, Provincial Minister Manshaullah Butt said that ensuring foolproof security, effective administrative measures, and the provision of all essential facilities for Muharram processions and gatherings remains a top priority of the Punjab government. He emphasized that no negligence or lapse in duty would be tolerated.
The minister directed all concerned departments to maintain effective arrangements for security, cleanliness, lighting, medical assistance, traffic management, and public facilitation until the conclusion of Muharram events, ensuring that all religious activities are conducted in a peaceful, secure, and well-organized manner.
