LAHORE, Apr 03 (APP): Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari met with young social media star Zartasha (Tashu) here on Friday and expressed admiration for her confidence and talent.
During the meeting, the minister strongly condemned the online trolling faced by the young girl after she praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The minister termed the targeting of an innocent child as a “shameful act” and called for responsible behavior on social media.
She criticized certain elements for targeting individuals who do not align with their views, questioning their double standards. The minister also raised concerns about the treatment of women and children online, asking whether those involved in such behavior consider the impact on their own families.
She noted that while Zartasha showed resilience, the online harassment had deeply affected her mother. She assured full support to the young social media star and encouraged her to continue her positive activities without fear.
The minister emphasized the importance of creating a safe and respectful digital environment, especially for young content creators.
