Milk shop sealed, FIR registered over sale of adulterated milk in Multan

Punjab Food Authority (PFA), acting on the directives of Director General Punjab Food Authority Syed Musa Raza, intensified its campaign against food adulteration and sealed a milk shop on Khan Village road after laboratory tests confirmed the sale of substandard milk.

MULTAN, Jun 09 (APP): Punjab Food Authority (PFA), acting on the directives of Director General Punjab Food Authority Syed Musa Raza, intensified its campaign against food adulteration and sealed a milk shop on Khan Village road after laboratory tests confirmed the sale of substandard milk.
According to official sources, a PFA food safety team conducted a routine inspection of the outlet and collected milk samples for laboratory analysis. The test results revealed that the milk contained fat and essential nutrients below the prescribed standards.
Following the confirmation of violations, the Food authority sealed the shop until improvement.
The team also confiscated the shop’s chiller and freezer and lodged an FIR against the owner at the relevant police station.
Speaking on the occasion, DG PFA Syed Musa Raza said that milk was a basic dietary necessity consumed daily by people of all age groups, particularly children and the elderly, and any compromise on its quality or nutritional value wouldn’t be tolerated.
He reiterated that the authority was pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against food adulteration and violations of food safety laws, adding that strict and indiscriminate action was being taken against those endangering public health through the sale of substandard food products.
The DG urged citizens to play their role in eliminating food adulteration by reporting complaints regarding milk adulteration, substandard food items or hygiene violations through the Punjab Food Authority’s helpline 1223.
