MD Suthra Punjab Agency reviews sanitation operations in Gujar Khan

RAWALPINDI, Sep 05 (APP):Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi Rana Sajid Safdar conducted a detailed visit to Tehsil Gujar Khan to review ongoing sanitation operations, waste enclosures, transfer collection points (TCPs) and the dumping station.
During the visit, the MD inspected sanitation arrangements, waste collection and disposal mechanisms in various parts of the city and directed officers and field staff to further improve cleanliness standards.
Manager Operations District Rawalpindi Aamir Younas Naik, Tehsil Manager Operations Umair Qureshi and Manager Contractors Kamran Amjad briefed Rana Sajid Safdar on the ongoing sanitation operation in Gujar Khan and accompanied him during visits to different areas.
The MD also visited several markets, where he interacted with shopkeepers and residents and sought their views and suggestions regarding sanitation services. Citizens and members of the business community expressed satisfaction with the cleanliness situation in Gujar Khan and appreciated the efforts of Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi and the leadership of its managing director.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana Sajid Safdar said improving sanitation standards across Gujar Khan and all areas of Rawalpindi district was among the agency’s top priorities. He said field operations were being continuously monitored to ensure residents received a clean and healthy environment.
He directed sanitation workers to ensure timely removal of garbage and maintain high cleanliness standards in markets and other important public places.
Rana Sajid Safdar urged traders and citizens to cooperate with Suthra Punjab Agency in improving the sanitation system and refrain from throwing waste on roads, in markets and at public places.
“Cleanliness is not the responsibility of government institutions alone. The dream of a clean city can only become a reality with the active cooperation of citizens,” he said.
He further instructed officials and field staff to strengthen sanitation arrangements in markets, ensure timely collection and transportation of waste, and promptly address complaints received from citizens.
The MD said all available resources would be utilized to achieve the zero-waste target and that no compromise would be made on cleanliness standards in the field.
He said the objective of Suthra Punjab was not limited to carrying out sanitation operations but also to create awareness among citizens and establish a sustainable and effective waste-management system. Alongside field operations, he added, public awareness campaigns would continue on a large scale.
Rana Sajid Safdar said that, in line with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Suthra Punjab vision, all officers and workers must perform their duties with dedication, hard work and commitment to provide citizens with the best possible sanitation services.
Meanwhile, the Communication Team of Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi also conducted a cleanliness and anti-smog awareness campaign in Gujar Khan. The team distributed informational pamphlets among shopkeepers and residents and briefed them about the causes of smog, the harmful effects of environmental pollution and necessary preventive measures.
The communication team also informed citizens about the Suthra Punjab helpline 1139, the Suthra Punjab Citizen App and the agency’s social media pages for lodging sanitation-related complaints.
Citizens were urged to report sanitation problems promptly through the relevant platforms so that complaints could be addressed without delay.
