SARGODHA, Aug 31 (APP): Mauritius High Commissioner Munsoo Kurrimbaccus visited the University of Sargodha (UoS) on Monday to explore collaboration between Pakistan and Mauritius in higher education, including the establishment of a joint international-standard university campus, joint degree programmes, academic and research initiatives, and faculty and student exchanges.

Director External Linkages Prof Dr Ejaz Asghar Bhatti was also present.
Briefing the high commissioner, Dr Abbas said the University of Sargodha had emerged among the top 10 universities in Pakistan in education and research. Mr Kurrimbaccus said he had visited several universities across Pakistan but found the University of Sargodha particularly impressive for its academic standing, discipline and infrastructure.
He appreciated the reforms and initiatives introduced under the leadership of vice chancellor and said Mauritius was initiating research programmes with only two Pakistani universities — the University of Karachi and the University of Sargodha.
The high commissioner said that although several leading Western universities had established campuses in Mauritius, his country intended to begin a new academic partnership with UoS in view of its performance and academic progress.
