Man shot dead in Bhowana, police probe old enmity angle

A man was killed in a firing incident within the jurisdiction of Bhowana Police Station, police said on Friday, adding that the incident appears to be linked to an old enmity.

CHINIOT, May 15 (APP): A man was killed in a firing incident within the jurisdiction of Bhowana Police Station, police said on Friday, adding that the incident appears to be linked to an old enmity.
According to police officials, the victim identified as Waris, son of Shahadat, a resident of Chak No. 186 JB, was shot dead by unidentified assailants. He was stated to be around 55 to 60 years of age. Upon receiving information, senior police officers along with DSP Bhowana and investigation teams reached the scene and collected forensic evidence.
Initial police findings suggest the killing may be an outcome of a previous murder-related feud; however, investigators are also examining other possible angles. A special team has been formed under the supervision of DSP Bhowana to trace and arrest the suspects involved in the case.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said strict action would be taken against those responsible and assured the victim’s family that justice would be ensured at all costs. He further directed police to expedite efforts for the arrest of the accused and complete the investigation on priority.
