A special court (central) on Friday sentenced a man involved in a visa fraud case to two-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) and Rs500,000 fine.

LAHORE, Jul 03 (APP): A special court (central) on Friday sentenced a man involved in a visa fraud case to two-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) and Rs500,000 fine.
Special Court (Central-II) Judge Shahid Bashir convicted accused Muhammad Boota in connection with a Dubai work visa scam. The court also directed him to pay Rs300,000, out of the fine amount, as compensation to the victim.
According to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) , Muhammad Boota fraudulently obtained Rs225,000 from a man on the pretext of arranging a Dubai work visa for him. However, later on he neither sent the complainant abroad nor returned his money. An FIR (No. 912/2017) was registered against the accused at the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Lahore.
Following the verdict, the court ordered that the convict be sent to jail to serve his sentence. Assistant Director (Legal) Iqra Altaf represented the agency before the court.
