Legitimate public matters to be addressed in timely, transparent manner: Zahid Bakhtawari

RAWALPINDI, Aug 09 (APP): Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) Vice President Zahid Bakhtawari has assured that legitimate public matters would be addressed in a timely, transparent and efficient manner, while stressing that bribery and corruption must be eliminated through collective efforts and lawful procedures.

He expressed these views during a meeting with former Rawalpindi Cantonment Board Vice President Malik Munir Ahmed and former Cantonment Board members Rasheed Ahmed Khan, Malik Amjad Hussain, Chaudhry Abdul Shakoor, Malik Tahir Ayub, Arshad Mehmood, Haji Tariq Mehmood and Malik Saghir Ahmed.

The delegation apprised Zahid Bakhtawari of concerns being faced by residents and members of the business community, particularly regarding increases in reservancy charges, water charges and other fees.

Zahid Bakhtawari assured the delegation that a working group would be formed to examine the issues and address the concerns in consultation with former Cantonment Board members. He said all legitimate matters would be taken up with the relevant forums on a priority basis.

“The Cantonment belongs to everyone, and we must work together for its development and progress,” he said, emphasizing that public issues should be resolved through mutual consultation, dialogue and within the framework of the law.

The Vice President further said that eliminating bribery and corruption was a shared responsibility. He assured the delegation that legitimate public matters would be handled transparently and efficiently, while discouraging any attempt to obtain unlawful benefits through bribery.

The delegation expressed full confidence in Zahid Bakhtawari’s leadership and efforts, saying that his presence had raised hopes for the effective resolution of public and collective issues.
