Lahore suspends 68 licenses, launches traffic crackdown

The Lahore Traffic Police will launch a special citywide crackdown on Sunday against underage and unlicensed drivers, as well as triple riding, on the directives of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi.

LAHORE, Jul 12 (APP): The Lahore Traffic Police will launch a special citywide crackdown on Sunday against underage and unlicensed drivers, as well as triple riding, on the directives of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi.
The CTO said vehicles driven by underage or unlicensed motorists will be stopped, fined and impounded. Unlicensed drivers of vehicles will face a Rs5,000 fine, while unlicensed motorcyclists will be fined Rs2,000. He added that learner permit holders are not allowed to drive independently.
Meanwhile, the driving licenses of 68 motorists involved in traffic accidents have been suspended. Police said licenses will be suspended immediately in fatal and serious injury crashes, and anyone found driving with a suspended license will face legal action.
