RAWALPINDI, Aug 14 (APP): The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench observed Pakistan’s Independence Day with a dignified ceremony on the court premises, featuring Senior Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf as chief guests.
The event drew a prominent gathering of retired judges, along with office-bearers and members of the High Court Bar Association and the District Bar Association Rawalpindi.
Upon arrival, Senior Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan was presented a formal Guard of Honour by a contingent of police, after which he performed the flag-hoisting ceremony accompanied by fellow judges.
Addressing the gathering, Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan described freedom as the greatest blessing, achieved through the monumental sacrifices of ancestors under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that the historic day serves as both a symbol of liberation and a reminder of ongoing perseverance, calling on the legal fraternity to honor the heroes who rendered an independent homeland possible.
He urged the lawyers and judicial community to play an active role in national development and judicial integrity by upholding the principles and vision of the nation’s founder.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the country’s progress, security, and sovereignty.
