Kirmani visits Sadiqabad, RY Khan

Minister for Agriculture & Livestock Punjab, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, visited Sadiqabad and Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday.

MULTAN, Apr 19 (APP): Minister for Agriculture & Livestock Punjab, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, visited Sadiqabad and Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday.
On this occasion, a compartment for the eradication of Foot-and-Mouth Disease was formally inaugurated at Dawood Dairy Farm in Sadiqabad.
Later, a detailed briefing was given regarding ongoing activities of Agriculture and Livestock Departments in Bahawalpur Division, as well as the wheat procurement.
The meeting was attended by Chaudhry Irtaza Dawood, Director Generals Agriculture Punjab Chaudhry Abdul Hameed and Naveed Asmat Kahloon,
Director General Livestock Dr Nadeem Badar, Assistant Commissioner Sadiqabad Imran Rasool, Director Agriculture Extension Muhammad Jameel Ghouri, and officers from the Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Departments.
During the briefing, it was informed that out of 900,000 Kisan Card holders in Punjab, 127,000 farmers belong to Bahawalpur Division. It was further shared that out of 233 wheat procurement centers established across the province, 34 centers were operational in Bahawalpur Division, where registration of 9,000 farmers had been completed regarding wheat procurement in the division.
Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani stated that under directions of the Chief Minister Punjab, free of cost bags for wheat procurement worth Rs 6 billion were being provided to farmers. He further added that out of 8 compartments established across the province for the eradication of Foot-and-Mouth Disease, 3 have been set up in Rahim Yar Khan.
He further said that all possible facilities were being provided to the private sector to increase milk and meat production and to promote value addition to enhance export volume. Furthermore, according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, special package was also being offered to the private sector for value addition of mango, kinnow, and potatoes.
