MUZAFFARGARH, Jun 18 (APP):Police arrested a man and recovered an illegal Kalashnikov along with ammunition during a crackdown against unlawful weapons,officials said on Thursday.
According to a police spokesperson,a team led by SHO Shams Ullah of Rangpur Police Station conducted an operation and arrested the suspect,identified as Javed Latif.
Police said a Kalashnikov and ammunition were recovered from the suspect’s possession during the search.
A case was registered against the suspect under the relevant provisions of the law and he was shifted to the police lock-up for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The spokesperson said police were continuing operations against illegal weapons and criminal elements, adding that such measures were aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order in the district.
