IUB to launch South Punjab’s first Quantum Computing program
BAHAWALPUR, Jun 01 (APP): Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran has announced the launch of an advanced Quantum Computing program as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to align academic offerings with the demands of the national and global job market.
The initiative marks a significant step toward promoting cutting-edge research, innovation and technological advancement in South Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that the rapidly evolving global economy requires universities to equip students with future-oriented skills and emerging technologies. He emphasized that the new Quantum Computing program will provide students and researchers with advanced knowledge and practical expertise in quantum algorithms, quantum information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and next-generation computing technologies. The program will be offered through the Faculty of Computing and is expected to become one of the most innovative academic initiatives introduced by the university in recent years.
Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran noted that the proposed curriculum has been designed to prepare students for careers in high-tech industries, advanced research institutions and emerging digital sectors that are shaping the future of science and technology worldwide.
