IUB marks International Day of Forests with tree plantation drive

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur marked the International Day of Forests with a tree plantation activity at the nursery area of the Institute of Forest Sciences, Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus, to highlight the importance of forests and environmental conservation.

BAHAWALPUR, Mar 24 (APP): The Islamia University of Bahawalpur marked the International Day of Forests with a tree plantation activity at the nursery area of the Institute of Forest Sciences, Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus, to highlight the importance of forests and environmental conservation.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran participated in the plantation drive and emphasized the critical role forests play in maintaining ecological balance, conserving biodiversity, and mitigating climate change.
He appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged students and faculty to actively contribute to environmental protection.
The event was organized under the leadership of Director Institute of Forest Sciences Prof Dr Muhammad Rafay, who also planted a tree and motivated participants to play their role in creating a greener and healthier environment. As part of the celebrations, an awareness walk was also held, with enthusiastic participation from faculty members, staff, and students. The walk aimed to raise awareness about the importance of forests and to promote collective responsibility for protecting and sustaining natural resources for future generations.
