IUB Business Incubation Centre Steering Committee holds first meeting

BAHAWALPUR, Aug 21 (APP):The first meeting of the Steering Committee of the Business Incubation Centre at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) was held at Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran.
Addressing the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran said the Business Incubation Centre would serve as a dynamic platform bringing together faculty members, students, alumni and representatives of the business community to transform innovative ideas into viable business ventures.
He said the center would focus on promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and business development by providing young entrepreneurs with necessary support, administrative guidance and opportunities to access funding. The initiative would help translate creative ideas and emerging technologies into sustainable businesses, contributing to the establishment of new enterprises and the generation of employment opportunities. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran emphasized the importance of stronger linkages between academia and industry, saying that collaboration with business institutions would enable students and young researchers to gain practical exposure and develop solutions aligned with market needs.
The meeting discussed a range of matters related to the establishment and development of the Business Incubation Center, including its name and logo, vision and mission, startup programmes, mechanisms for launching business projects in collaboration with various faculties, and other organizational and operational matters. The participants also discussed ways to create an effective ecosystem for aspiring entrepreneurs at the university and strengthen collaboration between IUB and the local business community.

The establishment of the Business Incubation Center is expected to provide IUB students, faculty and alumni with greater opportunities to develop innovative ideas into market-oriented ventures while strengthening university-industry collaboration and promoting entrepreneurship in the region.
