Irish Ambassador Mary O’Neill Visits Sialkot International Airport

SIALKOT, Jun 11 (APP): Ambassador of Ireland to Pakistan Mary O’Neill visited Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL), here on Thursday.
According to SIAL spokesperson, the ambassador was accompanied by officials from the Embassy of Ireland. Vice Chairman (VC) SIAL Waqas Afzal, Members of the BOD, and the CEO SIAL welcomed the distinguished guests.
Later during an important meeting held at SIAL, VC SIAL Waqas Afzal said that the visit holds significance in strengthening relations by Pakistan and Republic of Ireland through people-to-people connections and cooperation in aviation.
VC SIAL said that the Ireland’s efforts to promote trade, investment, education, and nation ties between Pakistan and Ireland are commendable.
Vice Chairman SIAL briefed the Ambassador and accompanying officials on the airport’s operations and development said SIAL spokesperson.
The Vice Chairman SIAL highlighted the role of Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) as a gateway for the Pakistani diaspora residing in Ireland and across Europe.
The Irish Ambassador Mary O’Neill appreciated the contributions and entrepreneurial spirit of Sialkot’s business community.
She said that the Sialkot International Airport reflects visionary leadership and contributes significantly to the growth of Pakistan’s exports.
Both sides agreed on the importance of further strengthening international connectivity to promote trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, said SIAL Spokesperson.
Vice Chairman SIAL Waqas Afzal and Ambassador Mary O’Neill agreed to explore opportunities for further enhancing trade relations between Pakistan and Ireland in the future.
