RAWALPINDI, Jun 08 (APP): The district administration on Monday directed price control magistrates to intensify action against profiteering and ensure strict implementation of official rates across Rawalpindi district.
The directives were issued during a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Maliha Sehar at the Deputy Commissioner Office, attended by assistant commissioners, price control magistrates and relevant officials.
The meeting reviewed prices of essential commodities, ongoing price checking campaigns and enforcement of government-approved rate lists in markets across the district.
Meeting participants also assessed the performance of different tehsils and discussed additional measures to provide relief to the public.
Addressing the participants, the ADCG stressed that magistrates must ensure their presence in the field and take indiscriminate action against profiteering, hoarding and overcharging.
She said that provision of essential items at controlled prices was a top priority of the district administration and negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
She further directed continuous monitoring of markets, checking of rate lists and prompt redressal of public complaints to ensure maximum relief for citizens.
