IGP takes notice of Khanewal firing incident, orders immediate arrest of culprits

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem on Monday took notice of a firing incident at Niazi Chowk in Khanewal in which four persons, including two brothers, were killed over an old enmity.

LAHORE, Jun 15 (APP): Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem on Monday took notice of a firing incident at Niazi Chowk in Khanewal in which four persons, including two brothers, were killed over an old enmity.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the IGP sought a report on the incident from the regional police officer (RPO) Multan and directed district police officer (DPO) Khanewal to ensure the immediate arrest of the accused involved in the firing.
The IGP also directed the district police to utilise all available resources for the apprehension of the culprits and to bring them to justice at the earliest.
Following the incident, DPO Khanewal Muhammad Abid, along with investigation officers and forensic teams, reached the crime scene and collected evidence.
The DPO said that special teams had been constituted to trace and arrest the accused, adding that efforts were underway and the suspects would be apprehended soon.
