Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Thursday chaired a meeting at the Central Police Office to review security arrangements for ceremonies, rallies and other events being held across the province in connection with Marka-e-Haq.

LAHORE, May 07 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Thursday chaired a meeting at the Central Police Office to review security arrangements for ceremonies, rallies and other events being held across the province in connection with Marka-e-Haq.
The meeting was attended by Additional IG Operations Punjab Muhammad Ali Nekokara, DIG Headquarters Muhammad Abid Khan, AIG Operations Zahid Nawaz Marwat and AIG Admin and Security Qazi Farooq Sultan, while CCPO Lahore, Additional IG South Punjab, RPOs, DPOs and other senior officers participated via video link.
According to Punjab Police spokesperson, the IGP congratulated the Armed Forces of Pakistan and the nation on completion of one year of Marka-e-Haq and paid tribute to the Pakistan Air Force for its role.
He said comprehensive security arrangements had been put in place and directed the police force to remain on high alert, ensuring strict vigilance against anti-state elements and suspicious activities. The IGP directed CCPO Lahore, RPOs and DPOs to maintain close coordination with district administration and security agencies, adding that events should be monitored through cameras of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority. He further directed Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit and Elite Force to ensure effective patrolling, while additional wardens had been deployed to maintain smooth traffic flow.
IGP Abdul Kareem also instructed field officers to organise special ceremonies related to Marka-e-Haq at police offices and lines across the province.
