Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem on Friday felicitated the Pakistani nation and the police force on the 80th Independence Day, reaffirming the force’s commitment to protecting the lives, property, honour and dignity of citizens.

LAHORE, Aug 14 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem on Friday felicitated the Pakistani nation and the police force on the 80th Independence Day, reaffirming the force’s commitment to protecting the lives, property, honour and dignity of citizens.
In his message, the IGP said Punjab Police had begun the Independence Day by sacrificing three brave and dedicated personnel in the line of duty for the protection of the country and its people.
He said the 1,746 sacrifices rendered by Punjab Police personnel in the line of duty were a symbol of their everlasting love for the motherland.
Abdul Kareem said Punjab Police would continue to make every possible sacrifice for the security, development and prosperity of Pakistan.
“Every officer and soldier of Punjab Police will never hesitate to sacrifice his life for the country and nation,” he said.
The IGP said security had been placed on high alert across Lahore and other parts of the province on the occasion of Independence Day.
He said Punjab Police would foil the nefarious designs of the enemy and ensure the safety and security of citizens during Independence Day celebrations.
