IGP distributes laptops among 21 children of police martyrs

LAHORE, Jun 02 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem distributed modern laptops among 21 children of police martyrs at a ceremony held at the Central Police Office (CPO) on Tuesday.
The recipients included male and female students pursuing education in medical sciences, law, information technology and other modern technology-related disciplines.
Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said that Punjab Police had so far provided laptops to 329 children of police martyrs through its welfare funds, including 127 beneficiaries during the current year. He said that access to modern laptops would support students in their academic pursuits, professional development and acquisition of contemporary skills.
Abdul Kareem said that Punjab Police were utilising additional resources to ensure the welfare and well-being of the families of personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. He added that scholarships were also being provided to the children of police martyrs for higher education at national and international educational institutions.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the beneficiaries included two students from Lahore, three from Sheikhupura, three from Jhang, two each from Gujranwala, Sialkot and Telecommunication Punjab, and one student each from Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Okara, Muzaffargarh, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) and Police Training School Sargodha.
The ceremony was attended by senior police officers and families of the martyrs.
