LAHORE, Aug 20 (APP): SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry former President Iftikhar Ali Malik on Thursday welcomed Google’s announcement to provide Pakistani students with free access to its artificial intelligence platform, Google Gemini, for one year, describing the initiative as a significant step towards empowering the country’s youth with cutting-edge digital technologies.
In a statement issued here, he said the initiative, announced by Wilson, Vice President of Global Affairs at Google, would enable students to explore artificial intelligence, enhance their learning capabilities and develop skills aligned with the rapidly evolving global technology landscape. He appreciated Google for extending the facility to Pakistani students and expressed confidence that it would help nurture a digitally skilled and innovation-driven generation.
He said Pakistan possessed a large pool of talented young people who, if equipped with modern technological tools, could play a pivotal role in accelerating the country’s digital transformation and economic development. He stressed the need for educational institutions, industry and technology companies to work together to expand access to artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
He said greater familiarity with AI-powered tools would strengthen students’ research, productivity, creativity and problem-solving abilities while preparing them for emerging employment opportunities in the rapidly expanding global digital economy.
