SARGODHA, Aug 12 (APP):The district administration finalised arrangements for celebration of the Independence Day in Sargodha with national spirit and enthusiasm, with a series of programmes scheduled for August 14.
The arrangements were reviewed at a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner
Headquarters Ahmed Mughis here on Wednesday, which was attended by Assistant
Commissioners and district heads of various government departments, said a handout issued here.
According to the plan, a flag-hoisting ceremony will be held at the Commissioner’s Office
at 8am on August 14.
Commissioner Hafiz Shoukat Ali, along with Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry, will hoist the national flag, while district heads of government departments will attend the ceremony. A cake-cutting ceremony will also be held on the occasion.
An Independence Day rally will also be taken out afterwards.
The ADC Headquarters directed all departments to complete preparations and ensure effective representation in the celebrations.
He also instructed officials to decorate government buildings, intersections and other prominent locations with national flags, buntings and lights.
Officials of the Municipal Corporation and Suthra Punjab were directed to ensure special arrangements for cleanliness, beautification and decoration of the city ahead of Independence Day.
Ahmed Mughis said the Independence Day celebrations were aimed at promoting patriotism, national unity and love for Pakistan among the younger generation.
He directed all concerned departments to maintain close coordination and play their role in making the celebrations successful.
