BAHAWALPUR, Jun 04 (APP): Police carried out a grand operation against anti-social elements and arrested 10 suspects in various actions conducted during the last 24 hours.
According to a spokesman for Bahawalpur police, under the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab for a province free from drugs and illegal weapons, and in accordance with the directives of the Inspector General of Police Punjab, the campaign launched by the district police against criminals involved in anti-social activities.
“Police teams from Kotwali, Civil Lines, Musafirkhana, and Saddar Yazman police stations conducted successful operations against liquor sellers, arresting four suspects and recovering 95 liters of locally produced liquor from their possession,” he said, adding that similarly, tightening the net around drug dealers, police from Baghdad-ul-Jadeed, City Ahmedpur East, and City Yazman police stations arrested four suspects and recovered three kilograms and 80 grams of hashish, along with 60 grams of crystal meth (ice).
In a separate crackdown on illegal weapons, police from Baghdad-ul-Jadeed and Abbas Nagar police stations arrested two suspects and recovered two 30-bore pistols from their possession.
Separate cases have been registered against all arrested suspects, and investigations have been initiated.
