BAHAWALPUR, Jul 11 (APP): Following the directions of the government of Punjab, the district administration has established Heatwave Relief Camps across the city to provide immediate assistance to citizens affected by the ongoing extreme heat and heatwave.
According to an official press release issued here, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia and Deputy
Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza visited the Heatwave Relief Camp in the city to inspect the facilities and arrangements available for the public.
During the visit, the commissioner reviewed the provision of chilled drinking water, Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS), first aid services, shaded areas, seating arrangements, and other essential facilities. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that every citizen visiting the camp receives all available assistance without discrimination and that no one faces any difficulty in accessing relief or medical services during the intense heat.
Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said that protecting the lives and well-being of citizens during the heatwave is the district administration’s highest priority. He instructed the relevant departments to provide immediate medical treatment to anyone affected by heatstroke and to shift critically ill patients to the nearest hospital without delay.
