Health Minister conducts surprise visit to hospital, inspects healthcare facilities

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir during a late-night surprise visit to General Hospital Samanabad said that practical steps are being taken to improve healthcare services across Punjab in line with the vision of Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (Retired) Nadeem Nasir, Chief Officer Health, Assistant Commissioner City and other officials of health department were also present on the occasion.
During visit, the provincial minister conducted a detailed inspection of emergency ward, indoor patient wards and various section of the hospital.
He reviewed the availability of medicines, examined the quality of medical facilities being provided to patients and assessed the overall functioning of the hospital.
The minister also met patients and their attendants, inquiring directly about the issues they were facing and the standard of services being delivered.
He checked the attendance and performance of doctors and paramedical staff, expressing satisfaction over their presence and performance.
Khawaja Imran Nazir issued directives to further improve cleanliness arrangements in the hospital and stressed the need for maintaining hygienic conditions.
He also ordered uninterrupted availability of medicines and directed authorities to ensure that all medical machinery remains fully operational at all times.
Emphasizing the importance of emergency care, the minister instructed hospital officials to further enhance and expedite emergency services to ensure timely treatment for patients.
The provincial minister reiterated that provision of quality healthcare facilities in public hospitals remains the government’s top priority.
He warned that negligence or laxity in duty would not be tolerated under any circumstances and directed officials to ensure the best possible medical care for patients.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir briefed the minister on administrative and medical affairs of the hospital, highlighting ongoing measures to improve service delivery.
