HAR intensifies efforts to promote urban greenery
RAWALPINDI, Jun 23 (APP):The Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi (HAR) has intensified efforts to promote urban greenery and improve environmental conditions by enhancing plant cultivation and maintenance at Liaquat Bagh Nursery.
According to an HAR spokesperson, seasonal, ornamental, fruit-bearing and shade-providing plants were being cultivated at the nursery under the direction of Managing Director HAR Ahmad Hassan Ranjha.
The spokesperson said modern horticultural techniques were also being employed to ensure healthy plant growth and improved productivity.
He said nursery staff were carrying out regular activities, including irrigation, balanced fertiliser application, disease prevention and routine maintenance, to ensure the proper development of plants.
The spokesperson said the importance of trees and plants had increased significantly in view of rising urban pollution and environmental challenges.
He added that plants cultivated at Liaquat Bagh Nursery were being used to beautify parks, green belts, roadsides, and other public spaces, contributing to environmental improvement and the city’s aesthetic appeal.
