Hanif Abbasi announces restoration of Babu Passenger, Sandal Express

Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has announced the restoration of two suspended Pakistan Railways train services, saying the Babu Passenger Train and Sandal Express will resume operations later this month to facilitate passengers.

LAHORE, Aug 05 (APP): Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has announced the restoration of two suspended Pakistan Railways train services, saying the Babu Passenger Train and Sandal Express will resume operations later this month to facilitate passengers.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the minister said the Babu Passenger Train, operating between Lahore and Lala Musa, will be restored on August 20, while the Sandal Express, running from Multan to Sargodha via Jhang, will resume service from August 21.
He said both train services had remained suspended since the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision to restore them was taken in the interest of Pakistan Railways following persistent public demand.
Hanif Abbasi said Pakistan Railways would restore more train services during the current year as part of its efforts to expand operations and improve public transport.
The minister added that passenger facilities would also be further enhanced in line with the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
