Govt, business community must unite to steer economy through global shocks: Arif Ehsan Malik

FAISALABAD, Oct 05 (APP):Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) President Arif Ehsan Malik has called for close coordination between the government and business community to navigate the economic challenges arising from disruptions in global oil supplies and international conflicts.
He stressed that Pakistan needs consultative policymaking and coordinated efforts to build a stronger and sustainable economic foundation.
He expressed these views during a meeting with former Member National Assembly (MNA) Mian Abdul Mannan who congratulated him on his election as the chamber’s new president and assured him that the federal and provincial governments would take further measures to put the economy on solid and sustainable foundations.
Arif Ehsan Malik said that major and otherwise stable economies were facing serious pressures due to disruptions in the global oil supply chain and US-Iran conflict while their adverse effects are also being felt by Pakistan.

FCCI President requested Mian Abdul Mannan to play his role in mobilizing the relevant ministries and institutions for resolution of issues confronting Faisalabad’s business community as well as civic problems being faced by the city.
He said that the business community was already extending substantial support to the government in various sectors including health and education. It was also contributing to the wider social and economic development of the country, he added.
