LAHORE, Oct 07 (APP): Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that dialogue is the only solution to all issues.
He affirmed that the country’s image would not be allowed to be tarnished by the politics of sit-ins and protests.
He urged the youth to contribute to the nation’s development and progress without falling prey to any misleading influences, adding that those who repeatedly march on Islamabad are enemies of the country.
He expressed these views while meeting with leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab at the Governor House in Lahore. A detailed discussion regarding the overall political situation of the country also took place during the meeting.
Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan stated that the UN Secretary-General is currently visiting Pakistan, and it is essential to project a positive image of the country to him. He remarked that the nation cannot afford the politics of protests and sit-ins at this juncture.
The Governor emphasized that the solution to all issues lies at the negotiating table, noting that the Prime Minister has repeatedly invited the opposition to hold talks. He described the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) as a pro-people, democratic, and patriotic party that stands firmly with the country, adding that they would not allow anyone to tarnish Pakistan’s global image through sit-ins and protest politics.
The Governor highlighted that the PPP leadership and workers have historically endured the hardships of imprisonment, noting President Asif Ali Zardari has specifically suffered the greatest extent of incarceration and hardship.
He further stated that the PPP has always played a constructive role in strengthening institutions and upholding the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law, emphasizing that the party believes in democracy and regards the people as its true source of strength.
