GOC visits District Control Room to review Ashura security arrangements

MULTAN, Jun 26 (APP):The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Pakistan Army on Friday visited the District Control Room on Youm-e-Ashura to review security arrangements as authorities remained on high alert to ensure peaceful observance of the occasion.
According to the Commissioner’s Office,Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Usman Gondal briefed the GOC on the Muharram security plan,surveillance mechanisms and emergency response measures.
City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Dogar,Deputy Commissioner(DC) Nauman Siddique and other senior officials were also present during the visit.
The officials reviewed the round-the-clock monitoring system established for Ashura processions and religious gatherings.
The commissioner said all departments were working in close coordination to maintain law and order, adding that the control room would remain operational round the clock to ensure effective monitoring and a swift response to any emergency.
