GCWUS, UAF ink five-year pact to strengthen research ties

Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) and the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) have signed a five-year Letter of Intent (LoI) to promote joint research, academic collaboration and innovation.

SIALKOT, Jul 25 (APP): Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) and the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) have signed a five-year Letter of Intent (LoI) to promote joint research, academic collaboration and innovation.
The agreement was signed by GCWUS Vice Chancellor (VC). Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir and UAF Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, according to a statement issued on Saturday.
The partnership envisages collaboration in joint research projects, faculty and student exchange programmes, CO-supervision of MPhil and PhD scholars, research publications, seminars, workshops and conferences.
Both institutions will also work together in key areas including food security, climate change, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, public health, women’s studies and other emerging fields.
The agreement provides for closer coordination between the universities’ Offices of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORICs) and Directorates of External Linkages to promote start-up incubation, technology transfer, industry-academia collaboration, research grants and jointly funded projects.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir said the agreement marked the beginning of a long-term partnership aimed at strengthening research, innovation and academic excellence.
She said the collaboration would create new opportunities for faculty members and students to undertake high-quality research, expand scientific expertise and benefit from national and international research initiatives.
Senior officials from both universities attended the ceremony.
