GCWUS refutes news on recruitment process

SIALKOT, Jul 23 (APP):The administration of Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) strongly refuted and condemned the baseless, misleading, and factually incorrect news circulating on social media regarding the university’s recruitment process.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the university administration clarified that after the establishment of the institution, the service rules and regulations governing its employees were approved later, in 2021. Therefore, the legal and procedural requirements for the validation of appointments made prior to 2021 are currently being completed in phases.

In accordance with the directives of the 23rd Syndicate meeting, a formal case has already been forwarded to Chancellor/Governor of Punjab for Ex-Post-Facto Approval. Furthermore, the 23rd Syndicate decided that promotion cases would not be processed until the required Ex-Post-Facto Approval is granted and the services of the concerned employees are formally validated. This matter remains under active consideration by the  Chancellor/Governor.

The administration emphasized that these pending validation cases carry no legal impact on the proceedings of recent Selection Boards, which are being conducted strictly in accordance with the relevant rules, approved policies, and legal requirements. Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the rights of all employees and resolving their legitimate concerns, the university management stated that all necessary legal and administrative measures are being systematically undertaken.

GCWUS appealed to all employees, students, parents, and the general public not to pay heed to unverified news or misleading propaganda spread through social media, urging them to consider only the information released through the university’s official channels as authentic.

The administration reiterated that any attempt to tarnish the institution’s reputation or create public anxiety and mistrust through false information will be taken seriously, adding that the university reserves the right to initiate appropriate legal proceedings against individuals who deliberately spread false rumors.
