SIALKOT, Jun 05 (APP):The Anti-Drugs & Tobacco Committee of Government College Women University Sialkot organized an awareness seminar titled “Awareness Seminar on Drugs: A Call for Collective Action” on Friday to educate students about the harmful effects of drugs and tobacco and promote a healthy,drug-free academic environment.
Speaking on the occasion,Muhammad Farooq Chaudhary,Assistant Director and Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Narcotics Force,highlighted commonly abused substances and their devastating physical, mental, academic and social consequences.
He also shed light on the growing trend of substance abuse among youth and discussed practical preventive measures to help build a safer society.
The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various departments, reflecting their commitment to promoting positive change and fostering a drug-free community.
Faculty members,PhD scholars,MS and BS students attended the seminar,including Dr.Asma Waheed, Dr.Moazama Batool and members of the organizing committee.
At the conclusion of the event,Dr.Asma Waheed presented a souvenir and a certificate of appreciation to the guest speaker.
Certificates were also distributed among organizers and participating students in recognition of their contributions to the successful conduct of the seminar.
