GCWUF makes history with Pakistan’s first SIAM Student Chapter at Women’s University

The Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) has made a significant achievement by establishing Pakistan’s first Student Chapter of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) at a women’s university. 

FAISALABAD, Jun 05 (APP): The Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) has made a significant achievement by establishing Pakistan’s first Student Chapter of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) at a women’s university.
The chapter has been launched by the Department of Mathematics under the Faculty of Computing & Numerical Sciences to promote research, leadership, and global networking opportunities for female students in STEM.
Inaugurating the chapter at the varsity here on Friday, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) appreciated the students for leading this initiative.
She encouraged them to remain focused on their goals and actively engage with international professional communities for academic and career growth.
Earlier, Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, Chairperson, Department of Mathematics and Chapter Ambassador, introduced SIAM’s global platform and acknowledged the Vice Chancellor’s support in bringing this opportunity to Women University.
The newly elected student leadership team, headed by Chapter President Haseeba Maqsood, was also introduced.
All academic coordinators, heads of teaching and administrative departments, and students of the Faculty of Computing & Numerical Sciences attended the ceremony.
The SIAM Student Chapter will provide students with free membership, access to international research resources, professional networking opportunities, scientific journals, and participation in global conferences and activities.
