GAUS holds seminar on Indus Waters Treaty

The Department of Law, the Grand Asian University Sialkot (GAUS), in collaboration with the Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK), organized a thought-provoking seminar on “The Indus Waters Treaty: International Humanitarian Law and Contemporary Challenges – Understanding its Implications for the Kashmir Conflict”.

SIALKOT, Jul 20 (APP): The Department of Law, the Grand Asian University Sialkot (GAUS), in collaboration with the Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK), organized a thought-provoking seminar on “The Indus Waters Treaty: International Humanitarian Law and Contemporary Challenges – Understanding its Implications for the Kashmir Conflict”.
The seminar brought together leading academics, legal experts, and policy practitioners who explored the historical, legal, and geopolitical dimensions of the Indus Waters Treaty and examined its contemporary relevance in the context of the Kashmir conflict.
Among the distinguished speakers were Dr Sadaqut Ali, Head of Department, Department of Law, The Grand Asian University, Sialkot; Dr Mian Muhammad Sheraz, Associate Professor, Department of Law, The Grand Asian University, Sialkot; Sardar Bakhsh, Lecturer, National Defence University (Virtual); Dr Rashid Aftab, Director, Riphah Institute of Public Policy (RIPP), Riphah International University (Virtual); and Ameena Sohail, Energy Lawyer and Regulatory Affairs Expert.
Their presentations enriched participants’ understanding of the treaty’s legal framework, historical evolution, and strategic implications for the region.
