Funeral prayers for martyred Sub-Inspector Offered at Police Lines Headquarters

RAWALPINDI, Sep 02 (APP):Funeral prayers for martyred Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayur were offered at the Police Lines Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, with senior police officials, law enforcement personnel and a large number of citizens in attendance.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa, City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir, R.O. CCD Hassan Jahangir Wattoo, DPOs of Chakwal, Attock and Murree, SSP Operations, SSP Investigation and other senior police and law enforcement officers attended the funeral.
A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour to the martyred officer.
Following the funeral prayers, the body of Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayur was sent to his native area with full official honours.
Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayur was serving in the Crime Control Department (CCD) Rawalpindi.
He was martyred in an exchange of fire with a dangerous proclaimed offender (POs) during an operation in the limits of Chaklala Police Station.
The martyred officer is survived by his wife, children and mother.
Speaking on the occasion, RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa said police martyrs were the benefactors of the nation and their unparalleled sacrifices could never be forgotten.
He said the history of the Punjab Police was marked with countless stories of sacrifice by its martyrs and bravery by its Ghazis.
CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said the martyrs were the pride of the nation and their sacrifices would always be remembered with the highest honour and respect.
He assured that the families of martyred police officers would find the police force standing by them at every hour of need.
Regional Officer CCD Hassan Jahangir Wattoo paid tribute to Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayur, saying the courage and bravery with which he confronted the dangerous robber were highly commendable.
He described the martyred officer as a capable and hardworking police official.
The spokesperson said the department remained committed to honouring the sacrifices of its martyrs and supporting their bereaved families.
