Four drug suppliers arrested, Over 16kg drugs seized
RAWALPINDI, Aug 19 (APP):Rawalpindi Police have arrested four alleged drug suppliers, including an inter-district drug smuggler, and recovered more than 16 kilograms of drugs in a crackdown here on Wednesday.
According to police spokesperson, the Civil Lines police arrested an alleged inter-district drug smuggler and recovered 10.8 kilograms of hashish from his possession.
During initial investigation, the suspect allegedly disclosed that he supplied narcotics to educational institutions and various areas across the city.
The Naseerabad police also held another alleged drug supplier and recovered 2.2 kilograms of hashish, while Wah Cantt police seized 1.8 kilograms of hashish from another suspect.
Meanwhile, Gujar Khan police arrested supplier and recovered 1.6 kilograms of hashish.
Separate cases have been registered against the suspects and further investigation was in progress.
City Police Officer CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said all possible measures were being taken to curb the menace of drugs and protect citizens, particularly young people, from narcotics.
