Food safety drive continues in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Jul 11 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA), on the directions of Deputy Director PFA Sadia Rafat, carried out inspections across Gujrat district and imposed fines on food outlets for violating food safety regulations.
According to official sources, food safety teams inspected 58 food outlets across the district to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
During the inspection drive, improvement notices were issued to 18 food outlets, while six outlets were fined a total of Rs104,000 for violating food safety laws.
The teams also disposed of one kilogram of expired food items and 320 kilograms of substandard ice blocks to prevent the sale of unsafe food products.
Official sources said the Punjab Food Authority would continue its crackdown against adulteration and violations of food safety regulations to protect public health and ensure the availability of safe and quality food.
