Food safety drive continues in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Jun 02 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted inspections of multiple food points across the district and imposed fines on several outlets for violations of hygiene and food safety standards.
According to official sources, food safety teams carried out routine inspections across the district to monitor food quality.
During the operations, a total of 69 food businesses were inspected. As many as 26 food points were issued improvement notices for violating hygiene regulations, while nine food establishments were fined a total of Rs140,000.
Official sources further stated that 1.1 kilograms of substandard and unfit food items were also discarded during the action.
