Five illegal buildings demolished

LAHORE, Jun 30 (APP): The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) continued its grand operation against illegal constructions across the provincial capital, demolishing five illegally constructed buildings and sealing an unapproved structure in the Wagah Zone, here on Tuesday.
The operation was carried out by the MCL Town Planning Wing on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz as part of an ongoing campaign to eliminate illegal constructions and enforce building regulations.
The enforcement teams conducted operations in Wagah Zone, Salamatpura, Shalimar Chowk, GT Road and Ring Road.
During the operation, several properties found violating building bye-laws on GT Road and Ring Road were sealed, while illegal structures constructed without approved building plans were demolished.
The DC directed the authorities to immediately demolish all commercial and residential buildings constructed without approved maps and to seal properties violating building bye-laws.
He also instructed field teams to maintain continuous surveillance to prevent the restoration or reconstruction of demolished illegal structures.
DC Muhammad Ali Ijaz said the district administration had adopted a zero-tolerance policy against illegal constructions and the land mafia throughout Lahore.
He stressed that no individual, organisation or location was above the law and that strict enforcement would continue without discrimination. He added that sealing unapproved buildings was essential for protecting Lahore’s master plan, ensuring planned urban development and safeguarding public interest.
