Five drug peddlers arrested as Chiniot Police intensify anti-narcotics crackdown

CHINIOT, Jun 13 (APP): Chiniot Police on Saturday intensified their campaign against drug trafficking across the district, arresting five alleged drug peddlers during a series of operations conducted by Chenab Nagar and Lalian police stations.
The crackdown is being carried out under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif. According to police officials, the operations resulted in the recovery of more than five kilograms of hashish and over 60 liters of illicit liquor from the possession of the suspects.
Police said cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under the relevant provisions of the Narcotics Act, while further investigations are underway to identify possible links and networks involved in drug trafficking.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to continuing indiscriminate action against narcotics dealers. He stated that thorough investigations are being conducted to ensure offenders are brought to justice and urged citizens to report any drug-related activities in their areas through Police Helpline 15 or the District Control Room.
