First post-Hajj flight carrying 345 pilgrims arrives in Lahore

LAHORE, Jun 01 (APP):The post-Hajj operation 2026 commenced on Monday as the first flight carrying returning Pakistani pilgrims arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), Saudi Airlines flight SV-5734 landed in Lahore with 345 pilgrims on board, marking the beginning of the return phase of this year’s Hajj operation.
Punjab Health Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique received the pilgrims at the airport. The returning Hujjaj were welcomed with flower garlands and bouquets during a reception ceremony held on the occasion. Airport Manager Lahore, other senior officers were also present.
Speaking to the pilgrims, Khawaja Salman Rafique said he had come to receive them on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He congratulated the pilgrims on performing Hajj and prayed for the acceptance of their worship.
The pilgrims also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made during Hajj and appreciated the efforts of the governments of Pakistan and Punjab in facilitating their pilgrimage and ensuring their comfort.
Special arrangements, including dedicated immigration counters and baggage handling facilities, were made at the airport to ensure a smooth arrival process for the returning pilgrims, while officials remained present to assist passengers and oversee operational matters.
According to the schedule, the post-Hajj operation will continue until June 30. During the operation, pilgrims will be repatriated through government, private and Saudi airline flights. A total of 471 flights are expected to bring back thousands of Pakistani pilgrims from Saudi Arabia to various cities across the country.
