FIA arrests two passengers over illegal overseas travel
MULTAN, Aug 16 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Multan arrested two passengers allegedly involved in illegally crossing the border to travel abroad,here onSunday.
According to FIA officials,the arrested passengers were identified as Arshad Ali and Zulqarnain Haider.
Both had arrived in Multan from the United Arab Emirates on flight G9558.
During immigration clearance,officials found no travel record in the system indicating that the two passengers had legally departed Pakistan.
Preliminary investigation revealed that they had travelled abroad through illegal channels, the officials said.
The FIA Immigration Multan handed over both passengers to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Multan for further investigation.
FIA officials said the crackdown against illegal immigration and human trafficking networks would continue.
Legal action would also be taken against people travelling abroad through illegal channels as well as their facilitators.
