FIA arrests three in separate operations

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the sale of counterfeit products and hawala/hundi and illegal currency exchange in separate operations.

LAHORE, Sep 08 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the sale of counterfeit products and hawala/hundi and illegal currency exchange in separate operations.
According to a FIA spokesperson, the operations were conducted by the Commercial Banking Circle and Corporate Crime Circle, Lahore, in different areas of the city. The arrested suspects were identified as Muhammad Amjad, Muhammad Ahmed and Masim.
Amjad and Ahmed were allegedly found involved in violations of the Copyright Act. A large quantity of counterfeit products of a renowned company was recovered from their possession.
Meanwhile, suspect Masim was allegedly involved in hawala/hundi and illegal currency exchange. The FIA recovered Rs 38,500 in Pakistani currency, mobile phones and other evidence related to hawala and illegal currency exchange from his possession.
Cases had been registered against the suspects and further investigation was underway, the spokesperson added.
