ISLAMABAD, Jun 16 (APP): Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), under the chairmanship of Secretary of Ministry of Housing & Works, Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood, held an important meeting in the committee room on Tuesday to discuss measures aimed at providing greater facilitation and improved services to the allottees of FGEHA housing schemes.

During the meeting, the Secretary of Ministry of Housing & Works directed that a comprehensive and practical policy framework be developed between FGEHA and commercial banks to enable maximum utilization of housing finance facilities of up to Rs. 10 million under the Prime Minister’s “Apna Ghar Scheme.” Special emphasis was placed on devising suitable financing mechanisms for retired allottees to ensure their inclusion in the scheme.
He stressed that the proposed policy should simplify the process of obtaining housing loans and be transparent, accessible, and user-friendly, enabling allottees to construct and own their homes with minimum financial burden. Under the proposed mechanism, banks would make the required payments on behalf of the allottees, who would subsequently repay the financing through convenient installments. The initiative is aimed at facilitating allottees and making home ownership more affordable and attainable.
Moreover, the Secretary Housing & Works sought detailed briefings from the heads of all ongoing FGEHA projects regarding the status and progress of development activities. After reviewing the performance of various projects, he directed that all development works be completed within the prescribed timelines to ensure timely resolution of issues faced by allottees.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Housing & Works and FGEHA to the principles of public service, transparency, and timely completion of projects, emphasizing their continued efforts to improve the housing sector and enhance service delivery.
